The comic starts off as a script. I write the story and then break it up into pages and panels. Since I write and draw the comic, I don't need to much description for what's happening. If you split the job between writing and drawing, you'll need to write what you imagine the panel will have.
I then come up with the layout and sometimes I do the lettering before the pencils. Some times I do the pencils first and then put lettering in the "dead areas" of the panels.
